Homestay Network 

​Location: El Progreso Village

Come immerse in the Costa Rican culture with a home stay. You will take away so much more with this experience, creating beautiful friendships with a tico family makes for a lifetime of fond memories. All of the houses are clean, safe and friendly, and accommodation includes three family meals per day.

All houses are located in the village of El Progreso within 15 min walk to the beach. ​All rooms include beds and bed linen, mosquito nets and/or fans, storage and lockable door. Some rooms are en-suite, others have shared bathrooms. Double, twin and single options are available.

A. Yirlani & Edin

Yirlani and Edin have two sons. They are the managers of the Drake Bay Nature. Edin is a tour organizer and Yirlani offers cooking classes to the travelers and other guests. Edin is fluent in English and Yirlani does her best to simplify Spanish to non-spanish speakers. Yirlani is a stay-at-home-mom and Edin is a pastor and a tour operator. They have one room for the travelers with two beds; double bed and single beds.

Rate: $34.00 per night ​

B. Evelyn & Adrian

Evelyn and Adrian's pink house near the pulperia welcomes all travelers! This house is conveniently located close to Drake Bay Nature building. Evelyn is a stay-at-home-mom looking after their beautiful daughter Christel. Adrian is a boat captain in Agujitas. The main language spoken in the family is Spanish, however Adrian does understand very basic English. They have one room for travelers; double and single beds.

C. Miguel & Emilce

Picture
Migue's family lives near the village's pulperias. Migue has two horses and he offers horseback tours for the travelers. Migue's family provides a real sense of family living and despite speaking only Spanish, the whole family enjoys being taught English by the travelers. Migue has his own taxi company as well as farming his private land. They have two rooms for the travelers containing private bathrooms, double beds, and single beds.

Rate: $34.00 per night ​



D. Teresa

Teresa's house is conveniently located in the centre of El Progreso near the football field and local salon. The main language spoken in the house is Spanish. Teresa works with the local church and the primary school. In Teresa's house there is one room with one double bed and one single beds.

Please note that homestay houses are allocated to travelers according to their suitability for each traveler and are managed so that each household earns the same amount during the year. It is therefore not possible for travelers to choose a specific house to stay in; however, all houses conform to the same high standards in terms of facilities, security and cleanliness.
